Call for Speakers

The Call For Speakers Is Now Closed!

Are you ready to speak at WCLOS19?

We heard your wishes loud and clear for more development sessions in our community survey after last years’ WordCamp.

This year, we want to line up more technical development talks/workshops. However, this shouldn’t discourage anyone who wants to apply with a different subject. We want quality talks that interest all types of WordPressers, so we are also looking for Marketing, BusinessBlogging, Entrepreneurship and anything else you believe will appeal to the WCLOS community.

We encourage speaker applications from all over. Even if you are new to WordPress, tell us how you are making the web a better place. For more topic ideas, click here.

How long should my presentation be?

This year, the event will take place over two days. Friday 10th May being the Beginners’ day. For that, we are planning the following formats and will have two sessions run concurrently.

  • Regular Workshops – 60 to 90 minutes. 15 minutes for Q & A included.
  • Extended Workshops – 90  to 180 minutes, depending on how technical. 15 minutes for Q & A included.

Saturday May 11th will be the Main event day for everyone, talks and the Kids Camp (Age 8 – 17). For that, we are planning the following format and will have only one session at a time.

  • Regular talks – 35 minutes in total, breaking down to 25 mins for talk & 10 mins for questions.
  • Lightning talks – 10 minutes each, grouping related topics together.
  • Panel sessions – 60 minutes, breaking down to 45 minutes for discussions, 10 minutes for Q &A.

There will be a 15 minutes space in between sessions to allow attendees switch tracks, grab a cup of coffee, and or network with other attendees.

On Sunday May 12th, the Contributor Day will hold from 12noon – 05. 00 pm.

If you would like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic. If you wish to submit a session that will be run by two speakers, please indicate and include their name in the topic description box. Click here for tips on submitting an interesting proposal.
