WCLOS 2019 Kids-Camp

Register Your Wards For Kids/Teen Camp

Last year, at the first city Nigerian WordCamp we held in Lagos, we had a Kids Camp for children between the ages of 8 and 16. They were split into two groups, those who were interested in content creation and those who were interested in WP development.

The event was a success. So, this year, we are bringing it back again. We are equipping our children with diverse learning skill-sets that is already functional and useful in the 21st century world we live in. We must teach our children how to be producers of content not just consumers. They must be equipped with technical know-how of how to start new businesses and run them successfully.

According to William on his blog, Kids-Camp should be a part of every WordCamp conference globally, because our youth, teens and young adults should have equal access to knowledge and developing their skills just as adults do.

We must work together to ensure we meet the digital needs of our Young Africans. We must let them know that they are heard because they are the future of software development and online businessesin Africa.

They should be equipped in knowledge needed to stabilize our economies and create digital changes in the Nigerian educational systems currently in place.
